Pépinières Européennes

Flora Könemann

Performance

As part of the Pépinières Européennes residencies, Méduse is welcoming Flora Könemann, a Berlin artist hosted by Avatar.

On May 15, 16 and 17, Könemann offered a workshop of experimentation on a series of audio clotheslines at the Université Laval’s Roulement à billes. Students got into the orchestra of objects to create joint sound explorations.

In June, Flora will present a series of three improvised-electroacoustic sound performances. Using of a record player, an amplified sewing machine and a resonant/sound clothesline, each performance focuses on one (sound) object Flora found during her residency in Québec. This is an invitation to listen via headphones and to take a restorative sound rest on a noisy traffic-corner.

This artist residency is made possible thanks to the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the Pépinières Européennes de Jeunes Artistes and the Entente de développement culturel intervenue entre le ministère de la Culture et des Communications and the City of Quebec.
