From April to September 2014, Avatar has been occasionally welcoming the Projet Phyla collective for the completion of its Sound Excavation Les Altitudes (Altitudes).
Projet Phyla was born out of a desire to reflect on art by filiation. Here, the sense of a garden, a tangible and imaginary ecosystem, is the anchor of explorations, improvisations and sound haikus. Using the concept of rhizome as its methodology, the collective plants its roots in various strata, juxtaposing micro and macroscopic spaces to rise up to high altitudes.
Initiated by Avatar, Projet Phyla includes artists Caroline Gagné, Myriam Lambert, Nataliya Petkova, Ariane Plante and Josiane Roberge.
