This eight-week residency, dedicated to research in sound art, takes place at two different sites and enables an artist from Québec to be immersed in complementary settings. In Sabadel, at L’EstruchThis link will open in a new window, the artist will work in a dynamic urban environment, in the centre of a vibrant cultural scene. Then, on the EufònicThis link will open in a new window campus, in the Ebro Delta, they will discover an incredible natural setting, shaped by the water and surrounding ecosystems.
In exchange, an artist from Catalonia will be hosted in Québec City by Avatar, a centre for audio and electronic artists, with the collaboration of Mois Multi, international festival for multidisciplinary and electronic arts.
The Eufònic festival has distinguished itself for its innovative approach in creating and disseminating sound artworks and for its commitment to exploring the relationship between people and their environment through art.
A source of inspiration for a reflection on the ecological issues, this residency offers a privileged space for artistic experimentation in a unique territory attuned to biodiversity. Artists are invited to propose research projects that address environmental themes such as climate change, resource conservation, and the impact of human activity on landscapes.
Finally, the artist selected for this residency will have the opportunity to participate in the Eufònic festival and fully integrate to its artistic and professional activities. They will be able to attend performances, workshops and installations, as well as professional meetings, and to benefit from discussions with other artists and actors from Catalonia, Spain, and around the world.
