Project

Klondike, décor sonore pour patinoire was an audio art initiative that brought together six artists.

The event gave concrete expression to common reflections about walks, but also honoured our cultural and emotional connection with winter. The six artists created works for the friendly setting of an outdoor ice rink. With its impressionist aural images, Klondike, décor sonore pour patinoire was a small tribute to winter walks and the colours and textures of the winter months, an appreciation of a slower pace of life, strolling, and contemplation.

For the project, each of the six artists had a one-day residency in the Avatar studio between October and December 2011 and took part in a three-day group residency at Recto-Verso from October 25 to 28, 2011.

Klondike, décor sonore pour patinoire was presented at the Pointe-aux-Lièvres rink in January and February 2012.
