In 2002 Avatar released a body of sound-art works from its studios to showcase the diversity of its research. 11 h was designed to accompany the audio and electronic art radio program Excavation sonore.
11 h contained a selection of 11 of the best Excavation sonore programs produced at Avatar since 1998, with works by established as well as emerging artists. It was in MP3 format and available free of charge in order to reach the broadest possible audience.
These sound works were produced each month for radio and broadcast on CKIA Quebec City up to March 2003. They have also been available for streaming on the Avatar website. The project launch was held in the Multi Room of Complexe Méduse on October 17, 2003.
