Points de suspension

Nady Larchet

Installation / 2023

During her creative residency at Avatar, Nady Larchet began making Points de suspension, a generative, sound, and kinetic installation.

Points de suspension is a project in development that poetically and metaphorically examines the complexity of human relations and their potential digressions, particularly in couples and families. A sound composition directs the impulse currents connected to communities of electromagnetic spoons, whose kinetic movements are created through the attraction and repulsion between the components. Collisions between certain “individuals” alter the algorithm of the sound composition, therefore altering it, which also changes the dynamics of the series of electrical currents. The mechanics and sonority of the work slowly metamorphose throughout its transmission.

Generative, sound, and kinetic installation activated by electromagnetism.
Prototype made during a creation residency at Avatar.

This residency is made possible through a collaboration between Avatar and EISODE. The work will be presented at EISODE (Montreal) in 2024.
