Biography

After diverse professional experiences in both Quebec and abroad, particularly in television and film, Josiane Roberge is now concentrating on an artistic practice that combines images in movement and art in action. She seeks to materialize the power of the gaze and the energies inherent in human relations, the states of being. Fascinated by the creative process itself, the artist sets up spaces that reveal to participants and viewers the potential of a certain humanity. Her works, characterized by halting rhythms, suspended moments, textures and silence, have been presented at such sites as Le Lieu in Quebec City and the Galerie des arts visuels at Université Laval. She also took part in Mois Multi 14 as a video artist. After her graduation exhibition in 2013, Roberge was awarded the Tomber dans l’Œil prize, the LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE award, the Prix Avatar, as well as the Bourse Louis Garneau.
