Biography

Diane Landry lives in Quebec City. For nearly twenty-five years, she has worked at sublimating that which goes unnoticed. Her works are presented in the form of installations with automation, assisted performances or video-animation-performances. They have been the subject of numerous publications, received major distinctions in both Quebec and the United States, and been exhibited in Europe, North America, South America, China and Australia. The artist has benefited from residencies in Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Argentina, and most recently at the Quebec Studio in New York, offered by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. In 2009, a catalogue accompanied the artist’s first retrospective—Les défibrillateurs—produced and distributed by the Musée d’art de Joliette. Diane Landry obtained a Master’s degree from Stanford University in California. She is represented by the Galerie Michel Guimont in Quebec City and the Carl Solway Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
