Diane Landry was invited to present her installation Les sédentaires clandestins at Quebec City’s Musée national des beaux-arts for the opening of a new room dedicated to contemporary art. Avatar, with its expertise in electronics and MIDI control system programming, helped put together the installation and created and produced the compact disc of the exhibition’s audio track.

A mattress frame was suspended over 24 modified turntables placed side by side with miniature cars sporadically going around them. The cars brought to life some 30 visual and audio images arranged in an approximately 20-minute loop. As a result, the entire space was inhabited by the sounds and shadows created by the sculpture.
