L'infinité des possibles
L'infinité des possibles Magali Babin (2011)

Avatar studios hosted Magali Babin to create her installation based on a collection of recordings of the St. Lawrence River.

Avatar studios hosted Magali Babin to create her installation based on a collection of recordings of the St. Lawrence River. The sounds were later entitled Bruits de fond and broadcast on Excavation sonore in 2009.

Magali was inspired byelectronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire to look at the notion of anticipation as experienced in dreams. The result is this mysterious, unsettling music. The underwater recordings for Bruits de fond were processed like electronic sound material and then mixed with recordings of people recounting dreams and nightmares involving water.
