Cycle de dérives Ariane Plante (2011)

Ariane Plante’s sound experiments were based on “Promenades,” a set of literary texts written for a July 2010 writing residency at the French multidisciplinary arts festival Laisser le passage libre. Here the project was to create an experimental and documentary work in situ, both a geographical/anthropological walk and a literary travelogue. Her written meanderings were inspired by the people and places she encountered, reflecting the conditions of their composition and creation as they explore the notion of walk as literary genre.

Cycle de dérives was Ariane Plante’s first audio work, arising out of her experiments creating audio walks that combine narration and her own field recordings.
