Corps étrangers
Corps étrangers Diane Landry et Paul DeMarinis, Émile Morin (2002)

Corps étranger was a way to create with two independent components, two complex systems, and two heads.

Corps étranger was a way to create with two independent components, two complex systems, and two heads. The work was understood as a system made up of more than one discourse that through that encounter effect created a new system without cancelling out the original sources. Like a game, the creative rules were designed to balance each artist’s control of the work with his or her ability to manipulate the work of the other.

Avatar presented the final stage of Corps étranger at Manif d’art 2—the culmination of a two-month virtual residency that allowed these two renowned artists from San Francisco and Quebec City to work together.
